First Official Tron Legacy Trailer (aka Pee-a-thon)
by Ethan Newberry on Mar.09, 2010, under are you serious, blog, music, technology, video games
OMGWTFBBQ. Since the shitty teaser trailer snuck online over a year ago – bootlegged by some greasy haired tron geek like myself with a cell phone camera – I have been creaming over anything and everything Tr2n (I actually much prefer this title purely for the design aesthetic). Well, it has finally hit the web: The first official Tron Legacy trailer. It’s full of teases, hot future chicks, glossy surfaces, Jeff Bridges, a light-cycle or two, and my favorite part: A lil peak into the soundtrack collaboration with Daft Punk. Hot DAMN this film cannot come soon enough! I don’t even care if it’s good, this soundtrack is a day 1 purchase. Click image and enjoy.
“Samsung Love Song” – Challenge Video #2
by Ethan Newberry on Feb.16, 2010, under Mobile Explorers, blog, music, team cool kids, technology, the real cool club, vancouver olympics
Here is Challenge #2’s video. The challenge, “Your Samsung Love Song” involved making a song that both captured the olympic energy and dealt with Samsung. We feel we were pretty much the only team to nail it (though David & Freddie KILL us with laughter everytime! They’re our besties). We utilize the number one tool for communication, the mouth, to create every note in this video. PLEASE VOTE for Team Cool kids by heading on over to the Samsung USA facebook page, clicking the “Mobile Explorers” tab and entering the Samsung theater. We need the votes for SURE on this one kids!
The Real Cool Club – Garfunkel & Oates
by Ethan Newberry on Feb.04, 2010, under blog, funny videos, improv, music, sketch, technology, the real cool club
We had these amazing ladies join us on the last episode of The Real Cool Club. I have seen Kate Micucci and Riki Lindhome perform live and seen all their videos, but I wasn’t prepared for the awesomeness up close and in studio. They are both amazingly talented, have huge resumes (Kate can be seen in “When In Rome” & “Scrubs”, while Riki in “House” and “Imaginary Larry” to name a few credits).
This might be one of my favorite episodes of The Real Cool Club yet. It was a blast during the show and even watching it days later still makes me crack up. Click the image above and you can laugh too.
Stay tuned for next week’s episode of The Real Cool Club. It’s our Olympic Edition with special guest, Kevin Pereira from G4tv’s Attack Of The Show!
merry christmas, LA. I hate you.
by Ethan Newberry on Dec.23, 2009, under blog, charity, funny videos, improv, music, the real cool club
Well, the video above about sums it up. I hate Christmas in LA. As a result, I wrote and produced this song (with some audio help from my good friend, Blake Lewis). I am giving you the video above (which debuted on THIS episode of The Real Cool Club) and the mp3 below.
I am not asking for money for the song, but a lil tip to The Real Cool Club’s “Canon 7D Fund” doesn’t hurt. Our goal is to raise $2000 to buy ourselves a Canon 7D so we can film sketches and bits for the show. We are at $1100 right now and so close to meeting our goal! Just click HERE to drop us ANY amount you like – big or small.
Thanks and enjoy the music! Also, spread some of the joy to your friends. Everyone loves a good Christmas jingle, even if it’s about the crap-stain city, Los Angeles. BONUS: I also included the Frosty Jingle Jam for your listening pleasure.
