Arcade Fire - We Used To Wait

So not only is the new album, The Suburbs, from Arcade Fire amazing and sonic bliss, but now they’ve gone and done something no other band has done.  They’ve created a beautiful music video experience that’s one part technological feat and another visual mastery.  By combining video and HTML 5 in the Google Chrome browser, Arcade Fire and Google have created something pretty memorable by breaking out of the standard video player and 16×9 format ratios.  I encourage you to both enjoy the experience on your own by clicking HERE (be sure to download Google Chrome HERE first if you don’t already have it) and check out the article Wired has written about the experiment.  Flash is officially dead in my book.  Enjoy!

In honor of today’s big Apple iPad release, I thought I’d give you an oldy, but a goody.  Above is a short vid we made as an opening to our episode of The Real Cool Club which aired January 25th, 2010.  You can watch that episode HERE.  We were pretty damn accurate with our predictions, though Apple’s current ipad could always use more ginger magic.

Facebook 3.0 for iPhone

Ok, let’s be honest: I love me some Facebook. Hard. Who fuckin doesn’t? It’s an instant way for me to create and stay in touch with all of my circles of friends. In my immediate circle I have family. (At this point, my sisters, my niece, most of my extended family, and my frakkin’ MOM has an account.) In the circles beyond that, I have my close friends, other “friends”, “acquaintances”, “fans”, “strangers and spam”. Facebook provides me methods of communicating with any number of these circles at any time. And in the most personal or impersonal ways possible.

If you do NOT have an account, you have decided to take a social stance against being awesome. Seriously, the arguments as to why you DON’T have a Facebook account are weak at best.  (continue reading…)
