A new project: “S0 & S0″ logo design
by Ethan Newberry on Jun.18, 2010, under art, blog, music, work
I recently got recruited to design the logo for a kick-ass band, SO & SO, featuring my good friend Brandon Rogers and a whole slew of amazing talent. Not only do I love their music, but I dig the aesthetic that they’re going for. While I sit and contemplate the design, how bout you sit back and enjoy some of their music by clicking the link above. If you’re in LA, they’re playing at Molly Malone’s next Friday (June 25th). I’ll be there.
a new video that will change your life forever
by Ethan Newberry on Mar.24, 2010, under are you serious, blog, funny videos, improv, music, team cool kids, the real cool club
So I’m on this new kick of creating some new YouTube content. One of the stipulations is that I come up with an idea and just shoot it, edit it, and post it. I don’t want to worry whether a video is “funny” or not. I was nervous about this video. My idea was to somehow incorporate kittens into a random song about nothing. I also wanted the video to not appeal to everyone’s sense of humor. I think I hit the nail on the head. This is a perfect of example of something that seems random in concept and results in a funny product. I love this video so hard, it just makes me want to F myself. Seriously, I love myself. Real bad. Enjoy “Don’t Say Kittens” as many times as you want. And hell, repost this shit if you are one of the peeps that loves it as hard as me!
merry christmas, LA. I hate you.
by Ethan Newberry on Dec.23, 2009, under blog, charity, funny videos, improv, music, the real cool club
Well, the video above about sums it up. I hate Christmas in LA. As a result, I wrote and produced this song (with some audio help from my good friend, Blake Lewis). I am giving you the video above (which debuted on THIS episode of The Real Cool Club).
I am not asking for money for the song, but a lil tip to The Real Cool Club’s “Canon 7D Fund” doesn’t hurt. Our goal is to raise $2000 to buy ourselves a Canon 7D so we can film sketches and bits for the show. We are at $1100 right now and so close to meeting our goal! Just click HERE to drop us ANY amount you like – big or small.
Thanks and enjoy the music! Also, spread some of the joy to your friends. Everyone loves a good Christmas jingle, even if it’s about the crap-stain city, Los Angeles. BONUS: I also included the Frosty Jingle Jam for your listening pleasure.
